The cause: end of the semester

I haven't been on to post in a long time, life has been so busy trying to get everything done. I have noticed that I like to make lists of what I need to do, what I have been doing or just because. So the list of the day is everything that I am working on as of now.

Typography - last project 4 page brochure with accordion folds, though I have found out that I like the type face univers rather than helvetica, its more interesting.
Color photo- working on fashion already have pictures, need to edit it down to three, make sure they look good, and print, plus upload them to my computer
Casting - still working on the fist project had fail hinges so had to go to plan b with brass tubing soldering, also at the same time working on the last project hoping to get it invested today so I can cast Wednesday and hopefully have that all done.
Work- it was really busy this week/weekend due to a sale so I come home not wanting to do anything but to veg out on the internets, which sets me back even further but yay for hours =)
Working on icons for Gaven- due at the end of the month which is already here, sorry Gaven, if you see this =/
Steam- Tim got my imac bootcamped for me and bought me orange box =3 while I was a work so I can get some game time in, but who knows when that will be.
Litter box- it needs to be cleaned but I have been to lazy and then everything piled all at once on me, I think I might do that tomorrow, it doesn't stink that bad yet.
Fanime-how can I forget?? I should get my commissioned costume soon, I have also ordered cat eye contacts and latex for the arm detail, both have been shipped out =) Only 24 day left!

Here is what I have so far for my type hw, it doesn't look like much, but it was a pain to get everything together, separate it and categorize, or course I do it the hard way, I might change my mind and do it another way. These are the two inside pages of the brosure. There is much more work to do on this =(

I was taking pictures today after work for my photo class. The assignment is to take pictures of my neighborhood. Seeing as I live in downtown San Jose there are ton of interesting people and places I had no problem.

I normally don't go around and ask people if I can take their picture. This dude is a little intimidation, I bet underneath he's just a big teddy bear. I haven't really done street photography before (basically what this is, all quite random but thought out at the same time) Actually I'm quite envious of those who can do street photos.

I took photos at the bakery that is connected to our apartment complex, at an art gallery, a motel across the street that's not very safe, Giovanni the sign maker (who might give me an internship), girl at a bus stop, kids on the street and a random asian lady that got mad at me for taking her photo. Speaking of being out going today, I saw our next door neighbor's door was open, so I knocked and said hello. his studio apartment was very well organized and clean unlike ours where is jammed packed with stuff and is cluttered. I wish that we could get our place like that. Anyways he seemed really nice and warned us that he sometimes practices and sings just in case if it get loud.

I haven't seen this in such a long time!!! I believe this is from junior year high school at home coming and we (geeks) had a booth where you threw whip cream pies at the teachers! i think we won a sprite award for it too! Well, anyways this is Mike a cool dude strutting the computer club shirt. This crude design was also done in a visual communications class with the most awesomest teacher, Ms. J! I miss them both =(
I found this photo/file/document digging through my back ups. I wish I had everything else that I had done in that class. At least there are memories =)

I made some fliers/coupons for my etsy site to hopefully boost my sales. The amazing thing is that I have had 2 sales in the past 2 days. That's amazing! I haven't had any since November. Maybe it helps that I have nothing over $10. Or I'm just that good! *wink wink*

Major update

Classes have started at SJSU, everything seems good I have all the classes I needed. The only thing is they do not offer a class in web design and I freking want to take one!! What the frek is wrong with them??? That should be part the the graphic design students' curriculum. Sorry about that angeryness right there. So the classes I am taking are, Art history design in society, Casting for small sculpture (using lost wax method), Color photo, Typography (finally a graphic design class!!) and a small 1 unit art class that is just a lecture with guest in the art field.

I am really excited about my Typography teacher is a female!!! That is a big deal because in the graphic design field most of them are males! She worked with Nike in that architectural sense, and she made the logo for the e-trade business! That is really cool and she seems nice too.

In other news, we have moved to down town San Jose. I can walk to school and take the bus to work. Plus being right by the convention center is nice so when Fanime rolls around we will be uber close. It is really small and the walls are thin, and there is a kid next door. But it is better then being somewhere else. *cough*

As you can tell it is really small and we can barley fit all of our stuff, there have been some changes: Tim got a new desk to fit in that corner, and we got a long yet skinny card table to go in the kitchen because there was no counter space. When I was doing the dishes I put the dishes to dry were the coffee pot normally goes. We are slowly but surely getting use to it, it is quite a different experience for us. We are just happy that we are together.

Not much new here, starting new projects in art classes and doing a midterm in a drawing class. I hope I pass all my classes. I'm just ready for the semester to be over!

I don't know what to say, everything is so complicated, I just don't care about things anymore. Maybe I should talk to someone, like a professional. I just don't want to do anything except read and sleep. I don't even go outside my room in fear of seeing her. I care about her so much she wont listen to me. I don't know what I did. Just got back from the dentist's office and the first thing they want to do is pull my wisdom teeth out! So I have an appointment in two Fridays to get all four of my wisdom teeth out. I hope that work will allow me to take the weekend off so I can recover. I'm so not looking forward to this.

We took Flower to the vet to check out what was going on with her eyes and it ends up being pattern baldness. How strange is that. She has no hair around her eyes an eye lids. It looks kind of weird, I just hope that she doesn't lose anymore hair, she is just barley one. Anyways while at the vet's office I had to snap a couple of pics with my phone.

Poor Flower was not happy with us, when we took her home she took refuge in Tim's closet.

While we were there Tim made a new friend named Sweety, she just sat on Tim's lap. She is the crazy ol' doc's dog who think she's a cat. I don't think that Tim had a choice if he wanted her on his lap or not.

I don't know if any of you have seen my kitty, Flower. She was named that because when she was a small kitten she had a stripe up her nose like a skunk and the skunk in Bambi is named Flower! It fits her to, but in a different way I guess.

When I was taking photos of her she was posing for the camera! I might have even thought that she liked the camera, she didn't even mind the flash. She's an odd one anyways.

Here I am again on my four hour break with nothing better to do than to post about something random. I'm really enjoying my photo class, I like taking pictures. It makes me feel all arts fartsy. But I am not enjoying my representational art class at all! I feel like a noob. I have not drawn in three years and now I need to take this class for my major. Everyone else is just so good at drawing, I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing. Maybe its just my how insecurities. All though it makes me happy that I choose graphic design instead of art. I can't really imagine me doing anything else than graphic design, i don't know what I would do if I ever would have to change my major.

Well, everything worked out fine and got all the classes I need! I'm so relieved. I'm just afraid I might be over my head with four studio classes: 2D art, 3D art, representational art (a lot of drawing realistic) and begging photo (with a digital camera).

After $801 I have a new camera, the cannon rebel xti in black, of course. I love it, they only problem is that the f-stops don't go down as much as I want them to. But it is the lens' fault not mine! I wonder if I should just look into getting a new lens? I probably shouldn't right now since i spent so much money. Speaking of which I need to pay rent today!

Since I haven't posted anything graphic design or art subject I will treat you all to a photo or two I took in art class today!

School disasters

I was ready and rearing up to go to school and now I am here on my second day with problems up the wazoo. They don't tell you what prerequisites you need to get in the classes. I was enrolled in Typography 99 and GD 104 and they tell me I can take it because I have to finish Art 12 which I am currently in!!! So I have to drop 2 classes and now I'm running around with my head cut off trying to add 2 more classes which I hope to the flying spaghetti monster that they will let me in.

Plus while trying to get everything figured out I'm looking for a professor who as an office number but no office, and he has no number. I run around this building looking for him and seems like no one has heard of this man or the room! Luckily I have a back up plan to go see a graphic design councilor which at this time was only taking appointments according to an orange sheet with his name on it, but he had a line outside his door so I was able to talk to him!

I'm so glade that was able to talk to him because he layed it all out for me of what I can take in the fall and spring. I wish that this kind of stuff everyone would know, because when I ask questions they send me to a non exisiting room!

So in about 30 mins I'm going to try and add represinational drawing class and tomarrow with a bit of luck I hope to add 3d design class. I am soo stressed out because with out them I am only enrolled in 2 classes! I just want to get the classes I need and get it over with.

Pray to the flying spaghetti monster that he will bless me with his noodley apendage

I finally got a job! San Jose is so awesome that you can get a job in three days, I even got two offers. Were as in Fresno I couldn't get a job in three months. Were I am working everyone is nice and its and easy job compared to some.

Start school next week at San Jose State, I'm excited but I'm also afriad I'm in the wrong classes I need. I hope that I will be alright with them. I'm taking photography, typography (all about text), 2D design and a basic graphic design class. Yay all major classes. It would have taken me two years at Fresno State just to get that far with my major classes! So its awesome that I can take them in one semester and I can be out of school sooner.

Bullet proof bra. Need I say more? Only in England.

As you all know I have started my new shop via etsy, but I don't know how to promote my site with out having to spend too much money. There is a site that I have done one add through for my cafepress site (boo) which is rare bird finds. I don't want to depend on them. I wish I knew more places like that I could promote my etsy through.

OMG we are now officially living in San Jose. It's like wicked cool. The apartment is awesome, it makes you feel safe, and we are not that far from down town San Jose. The only problem is that we need to get jobs so that we can stay here. We also don't have cable/satellite tv and internets. Which I am currently stealing the internets from my neighbor. Tee Hee. An added perk I am now living with boyfriend who I have been with for four years, give him props for staying with me.

I know, I know, I haven't posted in quite a while after I said that I would post every day a graphic design item, but it has been quite hectic these past couple of days, and filled with much news.
We found a place in San Jose, finally! It is a 2 bed 2 bath for $1650 a month in West San Jose right next to sister town Campbell, a big mall and Santanna row. After looking at some crummy places and then seeing this we knew it was good. Plus, I will be a able to bring Flower, my fat cat. I can't wait to move in on the 25th.

What I am not looking froward to is moving in the heat, dealing with so many people helping us move,paying so much money for a place to live and learning the bus routes. But that all will be out weighed by the awesomeness of San Jose and a life changing move for me and my room mates. Plus I get to live with my hubby! YAY!

As for designing stuff right now, I don't know how much I will be able to do until I move. I just might surprise you some time, just to keep you on your toes. I will keep you posted about SJ.

Welcome back! The weekend went by way to fast, and I got totally nothing done except seeing WallE, which is an awesome movie. I highly recommend it.

I got the left shoulder don't day and some of the shirt, the shirt is going to be the hardest so I'm doing the easy parts first. I didn't have as much time today to work on this as I have in the past days, but that's ok, because I'm going to go my home town to visit friends and family this weekend.

I have an idea for my graphic design mind, to keep me on my toes. How about I post everyday something that I have done towards graphic design, or as much as I can. This way I will try and stay on top of my game, and will give me something to do for the summer other than moving. I am bored I need something to do.
So for today I am going to cheat a little and post a photo I took in Frisco of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is artsy fartsy so don't worry, but it was taken quite some time ago. It still counts right?

It has been such a long time since I have blogged, I thought now would be a good time to start again. I'll introduce my self, I am a graphic design college student who is about to move to San Jose to transfer to the state college there. I can't wait to move and to get out of this stupid, stinky hot valley! I can't wait to move, unfortunately the coast of living is darn high compared to what I am use to.
I am trying to get myself introduced into the graphic design world. That isn't always as easy as it seems. I have put some of my stuff online, but probably not enough. I now I need to do more, hopefully I will in the near future.
